my recent work
Here are links to sites I have published for some very diverse organisations. Some of the design features may not appear for you, depending on the browser, computer etc. you are using, but the pages should always look attractive.
The Shared Earth Trust
is a charity providing training in conservation and biodiversity.
The site's design is kept uncluttered to give emphasis to the significant and attractive photographic content. The site is designed to be accessible to those with visual impairments. To increase usability, all links have "tooltips" giving a brief description of where the link goes. There is also a site map for users who prefer an alternative to menus. Pages can be printed for reference easily and quickly. The printed version of a page will contain all the text and images but not the on-screen menu or background.
The Brinore Tramroad
Conservation Forum is a not-for-profit organisation
whose aim is to safeguard the long-term future of this historic example of industrial
archæology.
The site is classical in style and uses the Century Schoolbook serifed font. The prominent "tramwheel" logo reinforces that used on the signposts and waymarkers on the Tramroad itself. The various pages meet the different information needs of walkers and other Tramroad users as well as those wanting more information about the Tramroad's historical perspective.
Maine-Stream Ltd are a Management Consultancy firm. They are performance facilitators, coaches and consultants who promote leadership excellence and improved performance in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
Wilderness, Wildlife, Retreat and Renewal (home page only) is the site for Neil Taylor's business offering safaris in Southern Africa. The design of the site emphasises the photographs that form an important adjunct to the text. The body text is restricted in width to make it easy to read on-screen.
